Green Gift Card MD Honoured with Industry Award

Green Gift Cards founder and Managing Director Graham Lycett has been honoured with a prestigious industry award. At a glittering ceremony, Graham was announced as an Honoured Industry Contributor at the recent GCVA Hall of Fame Awards. 

GCVA Hall of Fame Awards 

The Gift Card and Voucher Association (GCVA) is a trade body representing the £7 billion gift card, voucher, and stored value solutions market. We’ve been a member of the GCVA for many years. Beyond this, we work with the GCVA network to raise awareness of sustainability issues and the gift card industry’s environmental impact. 

The GCVA spans 95 members representing key retailers, card issuers and suppliers to the sector. The awards recognise the great and the good of the gift card sector with ten prestigious awards, covering categories ranging from Most Innovative Initiative to Retailer or Card Issuer of the Year. 

The exclusive event was held at the Landmark Hotel in London’s Marylebone, with more than 260 people gathered to celebrate the occasion.  

Focus on the Environment 

ESG (Environmental Social Governance) was a strong focus of the evening, with our fantastic client Motivates winning the ‘Big ESG Award’. Motivates are a multi-brand gift card who have experienced phenomenal growth over recent years. Despite this, they have never compromised when it comes to their green credentials. They were recognised for their mission to become B Corp certified and for using this experience to help other organisations to strive for the same environmental standards. 

Another brilliant Green Gift Card client, Toggle, walked away with the Best Creative Marketing Campaign. Toggle provides a platform for businesses to set up gift card and experience programs. Their support for hospitality businesses during and since the pandemic and their help in raising much-needed revenue for the sector secured the Marketing Award. 

The highest accolade of the night, however, went to Green Gift Cards founder and Managing Director Graham Lycett. 

Winner of Honoured Industry Contributor 

Graham was recognised as a passionate, dedicated, industry-leading voice whose campaigning to raise awareness of the environmental impact of gift cards has made a tangible difference in the sector. Graham was singled out not just for his experience and enthusiasm for green solutions in the industry but for providing solutions to reduce the impact of the industry on our planet. 

Graham was shocked and delighted with his win, commenting: “I’m honoured to have received this award at such a special event. The Hall of Fame awards bring together the very best in the industry, and it was a pleasure to celebrate the success and achievements of all of the winners. Credit must also be given to the wonderful team at Green Gift Cards, who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to create real change in the industry. There is still so much more the sector can do to reduce our environmental impact, and I very much look forward to continuing the journey of green innovation.”  

Commenting on Graham’s win, Gail Cohen, Director General of the GCVA, said: “The Honoured Industry Contributor is the highest accolade given at the GCVA Hall of Fame Awards, and there couldn’t be a more deserving winner than Graham. He has been a leading industry voice, tirelessly campaigning to raise awareness of the environmental impact gift cards have and providing solutions to make a real difference. A complete change maker, bringing the gift card industry along with him, at a time when it is more crucial than ever to reduce the impact of the industry on the planet.”  

Comments since the awards ceremony have been overflowing with congratulations for Graham, mentioning him as a pioneer, deserving of the award, and thanking him for his contribution to the industry.
