Our cards are made from the same core material used to make Apple’s iPhone and iPad boxes, so it’s a premium packaging product that has been adapted for us to use for the card market. We start off with one of the highest quality materials available, produced at one of the greenest paper mills in the world and with the most compelling credentials...but there’s more! We then create a thicker than usual board at 790 micron which is thicker than the standard PVC cards and just as tough. We then add our cellulose based lamination to both sides which creates a barrier to moisture and day-to-day wear and tear.

Our cards have been extensively tested to ensure they perform in line with plastic cards. One of these tests is a wick test where the cards sit in a bowl of water at 80 degrees for 20 minutes. The result was that our cards retained their shape and structure while other paperboards that were tested alongside for benchmarking all de-laminated and had to be discarded. We also tested strength, rigidity and printability and again the paperboard we use outperformed all other paperboards.
